RECIPES: PALEO SMOOTHIES

Create a creamy, yet non-dairy, healthy Paleo Smoothie Base, then add 1 to 1.5 cups of your favorite smoothie flavors.

- Ingredients for the Smoothie Base:
8oz to 11oz coconut water ( I use 1 container of Vita Coco)
1 TBS Almond Butter
1 TBS Coconut Oil
1 TBS Whole Flax Seeds
1 tsp Lemon flavored fish oil (I use Carlsons)
1 whole raw egg ( I use local, farm fresh ones for safety)
1 small banana
6-8oz crushed ice (if you like it more milkshake like.)
OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS FOR THE SMOOTHIE BASE:
1TBS GrassFed Collagen Powder ( I use Bulletproof Exec)
1TBS Cross Nutrition Cross Recovery Powder (Paleo friendly)
3TBS Hemp Heart Seeds ( I use Manitoba Organic ones)
- Layer the base ingredients in your blender as per manufacturers instructions.

- Add fruit flavorings. Examples:
1/2 to 1 cup frozen blueberries and 4-5 small frozen strawberries OR
1 to 1.5 cups frozen WaWona Mango, Papaya and Pineapple Festival Blend (At Costco!)
For this amount of base do NOT add more than 1.5 total cups of fruit or greens

- Place lid on blender.
- Pulse to combine all ingredients, then blend to desired consistency.

This will make aprox a 30-32 oz smoothie, so may be shared or make 1/2 the amount by cutting base ingredients quantity down. After a long workout though I drink a whole one of these as meal and then will be fine until the next meal time where I eat a good size helping of real food.
